Salt does something to dark chocolate that sugar never could. It wakes it up.

78% single origin Nicaraguan cacao with a light scatter of flaked sea salt. The salt hits the tip of your tongue first. Then the chocolate opens up. Brighter. Deeper. More of everything.

Fermented 6 days. Stone-ground 72 hours. Hand-tempered in Wicker Park. The salt is the last thing we add. It's the first thing you taste.

Tasting notes: Intense cacao. Bright mineral notes from the salt. Subtle crunch. A finish that keeps pulling you back.

Pairing: Red wine. Dark beer. A piece of aged cheese.

70g bar. Store below 70°F. Best within 6 months.

Ingredients

Organic cacao, cacao butter, sugar, sea salt

storage instructions
  • Store in a cool, dark place (40°F-68°F) - your pantry is perfect! Keep away from heat, sunlight, and strong odors.
  • See a whitish sheen on your chocolate? Don't worry! This is called 'bloom' - it happens when temperature changes cause the cocoa butter to naturally separate. While it might not look as pretty, bloomed chocolate is still delicious and perfect for melting into coffee, baking, or making hot chocolate.
  • No freezing needed - chocolate is happiest at room temperature!
