Once upon a time, nestled in the heart of Nicaragua, amidst lush rainforests and vibrant biodiversity, a humble chocolate and coffee company was born. Oro Chocolate & Coffee stands as a testament to a dream nurtured over a decade. Our mission: to create delectable treats while embracing sustainability and ethically sourced cacao and coffee.

Growing up in Chicago, I felt a calling that took me to Nicaragua, where I spent ten years immersed in the world of cacao, coffee, and hospitality. I was enraged by the realities of African slave chocolate and the deceit of big chocolate companies. Driven by the ecological potential of cacao agroforestry, I embarked on a mission to create a sustainable and ethical business.

Our farmers, the true heroes of our story, cultivate the finest cacao and coffee beans with ancient knowledge and a deep respect for the land. These relationships are built on trust, respect, and a mutual love for nature.

Every bar of chocolate and every cup of coffee tells a tale of dedication and ethical practices. As you unwrap an Oro chocolate bar or sip our coffee, you unveil a legacy of compassion and craftsmanship. Each bite and sip is a celebration of our planet and the hardworking hands that bring these delights to you.

Our commitment goes beyond the products. Our operations are designed to plant trees and support reforestation, ensuring a positive ecological impact. We invest in eco-friendly packaging and initiatives that empower our farmers and protect rainforests. Our single-origin approach ensures that our products are not just high quality but also support the communities and environments where they are grown.

Returning to Chicago, I brought with me the rich traditions and sustainable practices learned in Nicaragua. Oro Chocolate & Coffee now stands as a bridge between these two worlds, offering a taste of ethical indulgence to our customers. We believe true success lies in a harmonious balance between nature, people, and indulgence.

So, as you enjoy Oro’s signature creations, know that you are savoring more than just chocolate and coffee. You are tasting a story of sustainability, ethics, and the bonds that unite us all. You are part of a journey that started in Nicaragua and continues to grow, rooted in a deep commitment to making the world a better place, one bean at a time.
